On‑site Assessment for CNAS Laboratory Accreditation Conducted at Baier Testing
Recently, Shandong Baier Testing Corp., Ltd., welcomed the expert panel from China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) for a two-day on-site assessment. In strict accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories, the expert team carried out an all-round inspection covering the laboratory management system, personnel technical competence, instrument and equipment control, sample circulation, original records, test reports, quality control and other key elements.

During the assessment, the panel conducted verification item by item against the accreditation criteria through the opening meeting, on-site inspection of laboratories, proficiency testing via blind samples, review of archived documents, interviews with staff, and observation of on-site testing operations. The company’s management team, technical director, quality manager and testing personnel at all positions fully cooperated throughout the assessment.
About CNAS Qualification
CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment) is a national accreditation body established and legally authorized by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China. It is the sole authoritative institution in China undertaking laboratory accreditation.
Laboratory accreditation by CNAS indicates that the management system and technical capabilities of a testing institution meet internationally recognized standards. Test reports issued by accredited laboratories are recognized in over 100 countries and regions worldwide, enjoying international credibility.
Different from CMA (China Metrology Accreditation), the qualification recognition for inspection and testing institutions, CNAS focuses on the evaluation of laboratories’ technical capacity and whole-process quality management level. The two qualifications complement each other. Obtaining the CNAS accreditation certificate can continuously enhance the authority of testing data and competitiveness in public bidding, and expand technical service scope in sectors including agricultural product quality and safety testing, soil testing, water quality testing and food testing.
Baier Testing was granted CNAS accreditation in 2016 and has been engaged in relevant work for a decade. Its accreditation scope covers testing of food, agricultural products, soil environment and other fields.
The company holds multiple qualifications including CMA and CATL. It has long focused on livelihood-oriented testing services such as cultivated land quality monitoring, evaluation of famous, special, high-quality and new agricultural products, and risk monitoring of edible agricultural products. The launch of this CNAS on-site assessment is an important initiative for the company to consolidate standardized laboratory management and continuously improve technical service capacity.
Moving forward, the company will closely follow the expert assessment comments, complete rectification of non-conformities in a solid manner, continuously optimize the quality management system, strengthen professional capabilities of staff and operation & maintenance management of instruments and equipment, and uphold the principles of impartiality, scientificity and accuracy in testing work. Leveraging the advantages of CNAS accreditation, the company will keep supporting the quality and safety of agricultural and rural sectors, and provide more authoritative and reliable inspection and testing technical support for government supervision and new agricultural business entities.
